About Coco Equestrian

Thoughtful equine massage, built around your horse.

Horses tell us how they feel in quiet ways: a shortened stride, a reluctance to bend, a change in attitude. At Coco Equestrian, sessions are designed to listen to those small changes and respond calmly, using targeted soft-tissue techniques, gentle mobilisations and clear communication with you as the owner or rider.

Every visit is unhurried. We allow time for your horse to settle, observe them in hand or under saddle where appropriate, and explain what we find in plain language. You leave with a practical plan – not a list of "shoulds" – so you know exactly how to support your horse between sessions.

Sessions

From first assessment to steady maintenance.

Sessions are structured but flexible. We start with where your horse is today, what your goals are, and what your vet or other professionals have recommended. From there we agree on a plan that fits your schedule, and horse's workload. Each session uses evidence-informed bodywork to support your horse's comfort, performance and long-term soundness.

Step 1

Initial assessment

A detailed history, static and dynamic assessment, palpation and a full-body massage session. We look at posture, muscle tone, way of going and comfort in common movements.

Best for: first-time clients, new issues, horses returning to work or changing discipline.

Step 2

Focused treatment sessions

Follow-up sessions that target specific patterns found in the assessment. May include soft-tissue release, stretching, gentle mobilisations and simple exercises for you to continue at home.

Best for: horses with ongoing tension, asymmetry, or after veterinary clearance post-injury.

Step 3

Follow-up & review

Structured check-ins to review changes, adjust the plan and support your horse as their workload or stage of life shifts. Session frequency is decided together and can be changed at any time.

Best for: horses in regular work who benefit from periodic tune-ups.

Ongoing

Maintenance & yard visits

Planned maintenance sessions and structured programs for yards, riding schools and small groups of owners. Ideal for keeping a whole team of horses comfortable throughout the season.

Best for: competition yards, riding schools, rehab yards and owners who prefer predictable scheduling.

Structured Programs

Clear holistic plans for real horses and real life.

  • Short-focus blocks

3–4 closely spaced sessions for horses showing a new pattern of discomfort, after veterinary clearance. Designed to make meaningful change without overloading your horse.

Useful for: recent changes in behaviour or way of going.
  • Seasonal maintenance

Regular sessions set around your competition or hunting calendar. We focus on recovery, maintaining suppleness and spotting small issues before they become bigger problems.

Useful for: performance horses in consistent work.
  • Soft landing for seniors

Gentle, lower-intensity work for older horses and those stepping down from full work. Emphasis is on comfort, ease of movement and maintaining the small daily pleasures they enjoy.

Useful for: retired or semi-retired horses.
In-facility

In facility

You bring your horse to us for sessions at our facility. Having you present for your horse's appointment is optional but strongly recommended. You know your horse best, and your presence supports a calmer, more productive session and better follow-through at home. Short, medium and long term in facility stays are available.

Why attend your horse's session?

  • See what we find. We talk through posture, muscle tone and movement in plain language so you understand where tension or asymmetry is and why it matters.
  • Ask questions as we go. No need to remember everything for later – you can clarify techniques, areas of focus and how the work ties in with your riding or management.
  • Learn simple follow-up. When appropriate, we show you gentle stretches or in-hand exercises you can do between visits to support your horse's comfort and progress.
  • Your horse has you nearby. Sessions happen with you in the room, which helps many horses relax and respond more readily to the work.
  • One clear plan. You leave with a shared understanding of what was done, what to watch for and when to book again – no guesswork.

At our facility

We provide a quiet, sheltered space designed for assessment and treatment. A few things to know when you come to us.

  • A safe, level area for your horse – enough room to move around them and observe them in hand.
  • Shelter from the weather so your horse can stand comfortably and focus on the session.
  • Your horse ready to work. Please bring them reasonably clean (no need to bath), and not straight off hard work – a little time to cool down before the session helps.
  • Parking and access. Details for where to unload and park are sent when you book. If you have mobility or access needs, let us know so we can make your visit straightforward.

We also offer outcall and mobile sessions at your yard – ask when you enquire.
